This forum style presentation will focus on such topics as rent control, free credit and criminal screenings, no cause notices, and the new OneAppOregon for apartment application fees.

About the Speaker:

Charles A. Kovas is a partner at Warren Allen LLP. Admitted to practice in Oregon state and federal courts, Mr. Kovas represents landlords in FED trials, stay hearings, post-foreclosure matters, and all other facets of landlord-tenant law. He presents lectures on landlord- tenant law throughout Oregon and is on the board for the Portland chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers. Mr. Kovas also practices family law, real property disputes, business litigation and estate planning.

Before joining Warren Allen, Mr. Kovas clerked for Clackamas County Judges Robert R. Selander and Katherine E. Weber, and worked for Multnomah Defenders, Inc.. Before law school, he worked in Washington D.C. for the United States Senate Government Affairs Committee and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Mr. Kovas’ hobbies include spending time with his family, skiing, gardening and pre-Columbian archeology.
