Oregon Unemployment and SVN Economic Update

Oregon Unemployment Claims Continue to Decline

Continued claims in Oregon have been steadily declining the last couple of months signaling a return to pre-pandemic unemployment rates in the coming months. June’s unemployment rate reached its lowest since February 2020 with an overall rate of 5.6%.

The State of Oregon Employment Department will post July’s rate on August 17th but with continued claims going down on average of 2k claims per week for several weeks, it is safe to assume the July rate will decline even further. As soon as the July data is released by the state, we will post an update along with Metro county unemployment rates.
