Portland Economic Indicators – Sept 2017
Continuing good news for the Portland economy. The unemployment rate is at a historically low 4.1% as the region added 35,300 jobs in the last 12 months.
The US Census released 2016 data from the American Community Survey this month, a tremendous amount of economic data. Median household income grew by an impressive 20% in the city of Portland since 2010. Much of this income growth can be attributed to the 39,398 jobs created in the city of Portland that pay more than $75,000 a year. Full time jobs in the city of Portland pay an average of $67,608, more than any of the other larger towns in the region.
